First Video of 2012
21/02/2012 12:56 PM
Finally got around to editing the first video (of 12) of my “A Month in a Minute” series.. This one was shot exclusively in Colorado. It includes longboarding in Morrison, Snowboarding in Breckenridge and some astro-lapses in Fairplay. I was also lucky to capture some snowboarding on a really gnarly rail by my house in denver. I’m really excited to continue to work on these each month as it really forces me to get out and shoot and make each one better and more unique than the last. Enjoy!

A Month in a Minute
13/02/2012 01:09 AM
Last year I started a short video series called “A Month in a Minute”, which consisted of 1 minute edits of footage that I had shot over a months time. I intended to do one every month but quickly fell off the wagon... That will change in 2012 where I intend to put one out every month for the entire year. Last year was also making them all time-lapse based and music driven which was great but I don’t want to limit myself to doing just that. The point of these is to share my experiences over a months time and also to stay sharp with shooting and editing. I don’t always have 100% control over a lot of my client-based work so this gives me a chance to really flex my creativity while sharing small moments of my life...
Stay tuned for one a month, every month of 2012. And yes, I know Im already behind on January, but it will be out at the end of this week.. In the meantime here are the (3) that I did last year:

Adventures in the Flat Tops Wilderness
25/08/2011 07:56 PM

I recently had the opportunity to do a three day backpacking trip with my Fiance Amy and a group of good friends. I decided this would be a good time to shoot some footage, mainly time-lapses. Unfortunately my tripod is heavy as all hell and after the first days hike of about 7 miles I was completely destroyed due to the extra weight.

I did recover and was then able to capture some great footage of this amazing landscape. The Flat Tops is the 2nd largest wilderness area in Colorado and is located just outside of Yampa which is about 30 miles from steamboat.. The terrain we were in was lush valleys, surrounded by dramatic, rocky peaks. We found a great campsite among a grove of aspens which had an almost 360 degree view of the surrounding landscape. You just had to watch your step as there are tons of cow pies due to the roaming free-range cattle throughout the wilderness area!

It was an amazing trip and, although I didn’t film as much as i wanted to, I am really happy with the shots I did get. I was especially happy with the last shot of the campfire dying and the stars coming out. I shot one frame every 17 seconds and got some really dramatic stars towards the middle of the night.

Wounded Warriors Shoot With Warren Miller Entertainment
18/02/2011 11:53 AM
I just had the amazing opportunity to work with Warren Miller Entertainment on a 2 day shoot documenting the Wounded Warrior Project in Vail Colorado. This was an absolutely inspiring shoot for me as I got to meet some amazing human beings. There were guys out there that were hitting the slopes after losing both their legs and only 6 months out of years of surgery and grueling hospital care. Their upbeat attitudes, stories and smiles really moved me, it’s incredible to see human strength like that, truly humbling!
I will post a link to the final video as it becomes available to me.

Another 48 Sleepless Hours
04/07/2010 11:28 PM
Every summer as the 48 hour Film Festival approaches I prepare myself for 48 sleepless hours of filmmaking that I just cant seem to get enough of. This year I teamed up with long-time filmmaking friends Mike Forshay, Mark Slowak and Chris Gilmore as well as a new addition in Rachel Anderson. Together we formed the film collective “Theos De Dos Dias”, which means “kings of the 48” (pretentious, I know).

When we pulled the random genre of “Sci-Fi” I was more than excited. I am really proud of the film we ended up with and how well everyone worked together to to produce a damn fine piece in only 48 hours.. We ended up winning the “Audience Choice Award” for our group as well as the “Best Editing” Jury award. Check out the film here.

Helping Denver Nuggets Mascot Rocky Pick Out a Suit for the Derby
10/05/2010 07:54 AM
I recently had the opportunity to do a shoot with Denver Nuggets mascot “Rocky”. I head up the video production for the Denver Kentucky Derby Party every year and this time Rocky was featured.

The Denver Derby Party is a mint julip fueled viewing party located in the Botanical Gardens with all proceeds going to charity. We do a live 3 camera video feed which is broadcast on large screens throughout the party. This event is all about the hats and all about the fashion so it was only natural that we featured Rocky getting his “steez” on.The video was screened live followed immediately by Rocky’s entrance.

Good Times!
